WELCOME TO SASHA SYKES STUDIO…
… where I create sculptural artworks and design pieces from flowers, plants, seaweed & resin which reconnect us with nature in our day-to-day lives…
Artist in Residence at Ballyfin Demesne, Co. Laois, 1 - 5 June 2026
I greatly enjoyed my Artist in Residence stay at Ballyfin Demesne in late 2025, and I am delighted to have been invited to return for a second Artist in Residence stay in early June.
I look forward to talking to guests and members of the public about my work and giving them an insight into my creative process. Finished sculptural pieces, which I was working when last on site 6 months ago, will be on display and I will also be developing new work, inspired by the beautiful surrounding grounds.
With thanks to Oliver Sears Gallery and the Ballyfin team, further details are available here.
My solo exhibition, Filial Love, ran at the RHA, Dublin 2, for 6 weeks until the end of March 2026
The pieces showcased in Filial Love draw deeply on my relationship with my mother and her celebrated garden in Co. Carlow. It was a multi-disciplinary exploration of familial care and the natural world’s quiet resilience.
With thanks to the RHA and Oliver Sears Gallery, see further exhibition details here.
